What type of woman would wear these watches? Certainly not ever type of woman. I am not here to predict who would wear it, but I think it is clear that these watches are not for everyone, and that is likely how Boucheron likes it. Me too, because the richness of the watch world has room for models that some lust for and others loathe. Aside from the gray gold cases and many types of jewels the watches have either satin, galuchat (sting ray) straps. Overall, I appreciate this Boucheron ladies' watch collection because it is able to be humorous about luxury. This is not the first time that Boucheron has had a Bestiary collection, or that they have does animals mixed with jewelry. But the humor is there and so is the fantasy. So I like these watch. Check out the invidiual articles for more information about each model via my Luxist articles here:
While I didn't put the watch through torture tests, I did inspect it carefully with my watch snob eye (often as damaging to the spirit). This includes seeing how comfortable the watch is, operating each of its functions again and again, as well as giving the watch to non watch people and asking them to perform simple tasks. The results left me with a good feeling that CX learned most every lesson it needed to know about good watch making long before it make the 20,000 Feet Diver. The chronograph is a perfect execution of the Valjoux 7750 - meaning the pushers are smooth and precise, while their screw guards are flawless in operation. Winding the watch with the large crown manually was nice, as well as adjusting the time and date. The watch didn't miss a gear. The rotating diver's bezel is one of the best I've ever used. Strict professional grade. A perfect mix of being tight enough, but also being easy to turn. There is no wiggle or give to the bezel, and turning is smooth with 60 satisfying clicks. I do not embellish on any of these points. I've most never seen quality like this - even at this price level.

The two timezones are convenient. You will use this function often if, for instance, you have family in a different timezone or if you are a frequent flier. The 24 hour dial would also be convenient in outer space where sunshine does not determine whether it is day or night and the strong photo-luminescence of the hands and markers gives a clear view of both times in all light conditions. Keep this in mind for your next intergalactic sojourn. More important is that the distinct GMT function gives the BR-01 93 an attractive style that conforms to Bell & Ross' credo to never compromise function for the sake of design.

I like the style of the bracelet even though it is pretty "old school." It still looks good, and retro reminders are cool. It is comfortable and uses butterfly style deployment clasp. While the watch fits on me well, I would have liked there to be a half link (smaller size link that can be removed for more precise sizing) on the bracelet because I appreciate when a company wants everyone to have the most comfortable fit possible with their watches on their wrist. The Japanese are probably the best when it comes to creating watch bracelets with a ton of minute size adjustments, something the rest of the watch world should look at closely.

These are some sexy watches, with the most fun to watch useless complication that I know of - the ever enjoyable TriRetrograde seconds that Milus has made so popular. It takes the 60 second minute and breaks it up into three 20 second segments. Each has its own retrograde dial that circles the dial. One the little hand on the 1-20 second counter reaches 20, it jumps back to 1, and the adjacent retrograde seconds counters stars from 21 on to 40, and so on, and so forth. Like I said, it is a useless complication, but you'll most certainly enjoy watching it in action. A novelty that doesn't wear off soon.
As a limited edition the three watches in the Superocean Heritage Chronograph Limited Edition collection are meant to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Breitling. A small touch that is hard to notice in the images is that the Breitling "B" is done in 18k gold, located above the name at 12 o'clock. The watch is still 46mm wide and 200 meters water resistant, and the crystal is double AR coated and sapphire. I still like the minimalist rotating bezel. Lastly, nothing new for the bracelet or strap. Still the "port hole" rubber strap of the vintage style mesh metal bracelet. Both look pretty good here. Not sure about cost yet, likely ,000 - ,000 retail.
This is actually another very well done aspect of the watch - the chapter ring that is "cut" by the hour markers. The result is a hip looking three dimensional look right away when looking at the rich deep dial. Smaller minute markers on the chapter ring create a high level of legibility when reading the time. The dial of the watch is in a metallic silver tone with a slight brushed sun ray finish. Then you have the three symmetrical subdials with broad hands and textured and decorated interiors. This is probably the most "designer" influence aspect of the watch with each subdial enjoying a different, but attractive style. I really like how this is done and feels like a perfect middle ground between fashionable and functional. The crystal on the watch is sapphire just ever so slightly domed and AR coated.
For the opposite of night viewing, Rogue Warrior Watches throws in a special black shroud strap with the watch. Developed by the Israeli military, these special black coverings can be placed over the watch and have a Velcro shroud over the watch. During stealth night missions, you can't have anything that unintentionally glows or is reflective. For this reason, the Red Cell watch can be worn with this covering for total stealth.
Gc (Guess Collection) is the Guess company's watch brand. Though when I look at the name I always think Gucci. Guess as a company has had better days, but I hope that they continue to invest in their watch brand as they have some... interesting stuff to say the least. For example, the Swiss quartz movement has a 12 hour chronograph that has been incorporated into two subdials. The minutes subdial also has a smaller subdial inside of it for the hours. It is not the clearest to read, but the functionality is still there. You don't see dials within dials on too many quartz watches. Neat that Gc chose to use this movement. It also have a big date complication. Gc placed a tachymeter scale on the side of the watch. You could technically use it, but no one is. For that reason it is just there to be cosmetic. Which is to be expected with... most every tachymeter scale (ever put on a watch, ever).
Younger generations sometimes have trouble finding lust in more traditional ultra luxury watches. I think the Nubeo Black Mamba might at least be a partial solution to this problem. With prices starting at about ,000 for the basic Black Mamba watches, and going up to 5,000 for the Black Mamba MVP watch models - these are by all means luxury to "high," or "ultra" luxury timepieces. They also have that Lamborghini type of appeal that is lost in so many other more traditional luxury watches. Sure there is a world of extravagant and complex luxury watch out there - many not traditional looking at all, but the Black Mamba seems to have a pop culture appeal that is just absent in some of the other [circa] 5,000 watches out there. Plus, it is all design and craftsmanship.
Seiko is one of the most important watch brands on planet, now, and historically so. Who do you think was responsible for the quartz wrist watch? Seiko. Who do you think was responsible for the popularity of the LCD digital quartz watch? Seiko. Who do you think also makes a series of luxury made mechanical watches? Seiko. The focus of the brand historically was less on style, and more on technical excellence and movement innovations. So they’ve built up a tradition of constantly improving their own products, but also those of others.
